Peak torque on the turbo-petrol engine begins at an impressively low 1400rpm, then continues to 3500rpm, even after it starts to taper off there's still decent grunt on tap. The 207 GTI's power comes from a turbocharged variant of the 1.6-litre engine and peaks at 128kW. Better still is the impressive torque graph.
Solution: There are three possible reasons for this problem. It could be the engine control parameters, a defective gearbox, or an issue with the engine mounts. Start by doing a diagnostics check. If that reveals no issues, then you'll need to inspect the gearbox.
No 5's post does little to convince anyone a 207 GTI is as or more reliable than an Integra Type R (which the 207 should be, of course). Not sure when I said it was more reliable than any other car. I simply stated my experience with it and like most cars, some of the common problems they can have.

You just can't build small, lightweight cars like the 205 anymore…. not that it's a bad thing, for the most part, but it does mean we now need to rely on more power and better design to do the same job. Peugeot did OK on the design of the 207
Issue - The steering pulls to the left or right, noise from the front suspension. Cause - Lubricate the upper strut rear bearing bracket. Repair - Remove the rear shock absorber upper bracket bearing, clean of grease and refit. Peugeot 207 - DIESELS 1.6 HDi. Issue - Turbocharger oil leaks, power loss, whistling sound.
